Household Transmission of Zoonotic Influenza Viruses in a Cohort of Egyptian Poultry Growers

The nurse or physician will obtain nasal washes and throat swabs from subjects (index cases) testing positive for influenza A by rapid test or PCR on the nasal swab. The day on which a positive rapid test or PCR is obtained, will be day 1 of sampling.
